Texas Health Insurance for Children

Low-cost Child-Only health insurance for Texas

Children can have their own health insurance plans. They do not have to be on a policy with an adult.

The new healthcare bill has eliminated child-only health insurance plans from the major carriers. That is what happens when they pass a 2500 page bill without reading it.

However, we do have a plan that will still accept children without a parent on the plan. There are some limitations, but it still provides multi-million dollar coverage.

Texas Children's Health Insurance Plans

We get calls every day from parents looking to get health insurance for their kids. The most common reasons are:

My group health insurance plan wants to charge me a fortune to put my children on the plan - group health insurance plans are very expensive. Unless your child has a serious preexisting condition, or the company is paying for family coverage, private health insurance is much cheaper.

I am divorced and need to provide health insurance for my children or I will go to jail - we get this one a lot. Look, if you can afford it you should provide health insurance for your children. However, I do get a lot of divorced parents who are at the limits of their budget. This plan has a wide range of deductibles and will help you find something reasonable.

Please, just do me one favor. If you want to hate each other's guts that is just fine. But, when I try to put an application together for your child, make sure you freely share information about the doctor, prescriptions, etc. I am not the divorce attorney just an insurance agent. Give me and the kid a break.

I can't afford health insurance for all of us and I want my child to be covered - I represent a lot of companies and can almost always find something affordable. You might want to consider a higher deductible plan and put yourself on it as well. Children usually end up with colds and coughs. Parents find themselves with more expensive medical issues. Some coverage for everyone might be better than a lot of coverage for a child only.

Child Only Plan Information and Quote

The plan is sold as short-term health insurance. You can buy it for up to 12 months and then, after a one day lapse, you can renew it for another 12 months, and so on.
